Wasatch Equality–the Utah activist group that's lobbying for snowboarding to be allowed on the slopes of Alta—just released this video to officially launch their industry—wide campaign titled “Share The Shred, Alta”. The clip is narrated by Skullcandy founder and industry icon Rick Alden, giving us a voyeuristic look into the current situation at hand. Negativity, ignorance, traditionalism and blind hatred are some common themes exposed in the three and a half minute clip centered on the international powder destination that exists as one of the last dividing lines between skiers and snowboarders from a decade that has almost become forgotten.

It’s provocative and inspiring, boiling the issue down to the child-like scenario of “a group of people who don’t want to play with another group of people" and landing Wasatch Equality’s driving purpose as an organization–to stop the discrimination against snowboarders. You can take up arms yourself in Wasatch Equality's fight by using the hashtag #freealta in your Instagram posts, Facebook shares and tweets.
