The best way to discover hidden gems in a mountain town is to explore it firsthand with locals who know it best. Welcome to Mountain Recon, our snowboard travel series that dives into resorts and highlights the best terrain, après spots, nightlife and beyond.

Just 22 miles west of Bend, Orgeon is Mt. Bachelor. Home to some recognizable names like Ben and Gabe Ferguson, Austin Smith, Josh Dirksen, and more, it’s a true snowboarder’s mountain. Located about 20 minutes from the nearest city, it’s become a hub for those who enjoy the outdoors and some of the best riding in North America. Boasting over 4,300 ridable acres of lift-accessible terrain, it’s also got the highest rideable elevation in all of Oregon and Washington. In the latest episode of Mountain Recon, Eddie Wall links up with some locals to ride the mountain, take in some aprés, surf a river wave, check in with SnoPlanks, take a tour of the 10 Barrel Brewery, and more.
