Jeremy Jones’ Higher Unplugged Episode 3: Mountaineering and Rescue

Higher Unplugged Episode Three

Jeremy Jones has been exploring and snowboarding mountain ranges across the globe for over two decades. To minimize risk and emerge from these mountains safely, Jones and his fellow athletes continually refine their mountaineering and rescue skills.

Through the years, the International Pro Riders' Workshop has emerged as an essential resource for these athletes.  This workshop is facilitated by Teton Gravity Research, the production company behind a trilogy of films that document Jones' efforts to explore and snowboard remote mountains under his own power.  Each December, Teton Gravity Research's production crew, athletes, and guides spend a week learning and reviewing the skills necessary to safely navigate backcountry terrain and respond to emergencies that may arise within it.

With a curriculum that includes rope and rescue skills, snow science, group dynamics, and wilderness first aid, the International Pro Riders' Workshop helps snowboarders push further into the backcountry—and safely return from it.
