Ever since that first time. That's the idea behind the name for Justin Hostynek's 24th film. As the longest-running independent snowboard filmmaker, and one of the few remaining, Hostynek and his long-time crew including Shane Charlebois, saw the film as a reminder that it's worth every step, no matter what it takes. This year the group made a change behind the scenes and put 25-year-old Brock "Butters" Nielsen in charge of the final product. We got a sneak peek of an unfinished version of Eversince, and straight off it felt more raw than the artsy editing Absinthe usually delivers, yet dreamlike at the same time, thanks in part to the soundtrack. "I would say it's going to be fairly different," says Nielsen, who edited BozWreck 3 and Given 1 and 2. "Hostynek has been really rad with creative freedom. He gives his input, but he lets me do whatever I want, for the most part."

What isn't different is the level of riding. In last year's Heavy Mental we thought Austen Sweetin hit one of the biggest stepdowns yet, but it's possible that Jason Robinson drifts even deeper off one this year. J-Rob doesn't stop there—he unleashes some insane rail riding, which shouldn't really come as a surprise given his early filming days with Think Thank. Other standouts include Ozzy Henning who drops some stylish street bangers and Brandon Cocard with his all-terrain destruction. Watch out for Keegan Valaika, who put together one hell of a comeback part.
