The first day of competition at the North Face Masters was postponed. Reason: too much snow. It’s been socked in at Snowbird, Utah, which means conditions are getting primed for the beginning of this three stop series. With poor visibility the course could not be run. It was near vertigo out in the white squall today as the snow hammered all day and into the night. That didn’t stop the likes of over a hundred competitors who ventured out. Jackson cowboys, Travis Rice, Rob Kingwell, Mark Carter and Johnny Makens are just some of the few heavies in the lineup. It’s supposed to keep snowing all night and the wind is really loading up the west faces. There’s a tentative 8:30 am start tomorrow for the ladies. Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies…or on second thought…keep the snow coming.
