Snowboard Mechanics Workshop Schedule Announced

The SKI and SNOWBOARD MECHANICS WORKSHOP will begin the twelfth season under faculty management this September. The schedule below covers visits to 18 ski areas across the country. On Day 1, we will offer three full-day courses: Binding Mechanics Basic, Binding Mechanics Advanced, and Rental Mechanics Update. The binding and rental courses will cover all major alpine binding brands. On Day 2 the full-day course options will be: Ski Tuning and Repair and Snowboard Tuning and Repair.

At six locations we will also provide one day of management seminars. This program will offer two course options for snow sport professionals: Rental Shop Management, and Service Center Management. The per-day-fee is: $120 until two weeks prior to the Workshop, and $135 until two days prior to the venue. To register, fill out the attached form and Fax or mail it to the address below. BMB-1 ALPINE BINDINGS – Basic Entry level binding mechanics. Hands-on training in the installation and inspection of major brands and the use and care of hand and power tools.

BMA-1 ALPINE BINDINGS – Advanced Mechanics certified by at least one supplier last season. Hands-on training in the installation, inspection, and troubleshooting of major brands.

RMU-1 ALPINE RENTAL – Update Rental technicians of all levels. Hands-on training in hand and power tools, binding installation, preseason, in-season, and post accident inspection, and dispatch procedures.

STR-2 SKI TUNING AND REPAIR Ski mechanics of all levels. Hands-on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of skis. Also, hands-on training in delamination, sidewall, edge, bent ski, and major base repair.

SBR-2 SNOWBOARD TUNING AND REPAIR Entry level SB mechanics. Hands-on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of snowboards. Also, hands-on training in T-nuts, delamination, sidewall, edge, and major base repair.

RMS-3 RENTAL MANAGEMENT SEMINAR Rental shop owners, managers, and staff. A course in the operation of rental facilities of all sizes. Includes preseason, in-season and post accident inspection, maintenance, record keeping, boot fitting, ski tuning, equipment storage and dispatch, evaluating shop efficiency, and practical one-on-one help in reorganizing layout and procedures to maximize efficiency.

SCM-3 SERVICE CENTER MANAGEMENT Ownerss, service center managers and staff. The complete course in how to organize and operate an efficient ski equipment service facility. Includes work scheduling, employee training, equipment maintenance, record keeping, safety considerations, inspection procedures, test device calibration, and practical help in shop layout.
