Pro Snowboarder Jason Ford And Photographer Jon Foster Team Up To Create Unique Snowboarding Magazine

SAN DIEGO (Oct. 6, 2003) — Publishers Jason Ford and Jon Foster today announced the launch of “The Snowboard Journal, a new snowboarding magazine that will debut in January 2004.

“The Snowboard Journal will present snowboarding in a soulful way, featuring the best of the past, present and future of riding through timeless photography and compelling articles. The quarterly publication will cover the whole spectrum of the snowboard experience, providing riders of all backgrounds with a high-quality magazine filled with inspiration, insight and information. “The Snowboard Journal aims to tell the stories of riders and their travels, uncover the history behind the pioneers and places that shaped the sport, and offer the richest photography in snowboarding.

“The Snowboard Journal is the brainchild of Jason Ford, a former professional rider and marketing and product consultant for top snowboard companies Burton and Salomon, and Jon Foster, the former director of photography, photo editor and editor in chief of “Transworld Snowboarding magazine, who is considered by many professional riders to be one of the top photographers in the sport. When they set out to develop the new publication, their mission was to create the highest quality snowboard magazine in the world, featuring ageless and inspirational photography supported by gripping articles.

“Jason and I are both excited about creating a magazine that truly captures the essence of snowboarding, says Foster. “I have been fortunate enough to see our sport evolve through the lens of my camera, and I now look forward to sharing pieces of this journey with the rest of the snowboarding world.”

“‘The Snowboard Journal’ has the aesthetic of a high-end magazine, in-depth writing that truly captures the richness of the sport and some of the world’s best action sports photography, says Ford. “It will provide us with an opportunity to showcase the beauty and integrity of our sport.

“The Snowboard Journal is 100 percent rider-focused, and will only be sold in snowboard shops, resorts, key bookstores and by subscription. For additional information, please visit
