Snow Park Technologies Announces Chauvet VP, Partner

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. -- Snow Park Technologies Inc. (SPT) announces Josh Chauvet as newly appointed vice president and partner. SPT is a consulting firm that was established by Chris “Gunny Gunnarson and Mike Binnell in 1999. SPT specializes in the snow sports industry and youth marketing, with clients ranging from the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding, the World Championship of Snowboarding, the Nixon JibFest, and numerous resorts throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Chauvet joins Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson and crew to assist in taking SPT to the next level. “I am excited to join the SPT team so that I can help grow and further develop the business, said Chauvet. Also, this is a great opportunity for me to work more closely with Gunny.”

Chauvet was most recently with Mammoth Mountain serving as youth action sports brand manager. Mammoth’s progressive terrain park and marketing programs have been the key to reinvigorating the resort’s image and appeal to the youth market. In his four years at Mammoth, Chauvet designed and managed the Unbound Terrain Park and led youth specific marketing efforts that included advertising, industry relations and special events. Chauvet’s efforts help Mammoth establish itself as one of the premiere snowboard resorts in the world.

Prior to Mammoth, Chauvet became involved with snowboarding in the late 80s and later moved onto pro competition. Chauvet began his career at Snow Summit Resort in 1994 where he worked as a crewmember on terrain park construction and maintenance. He quickly progressed and moved to Snow Valley Resort, in 1996, where he directed the design and development of their terrain park program. Throughout his career, he developed a passion for designing and building terrain parks. Now with over eight years under his belt and numerous highlights including three years as designer of the Snowboarder magazines’ Superpark, the Burton European Open and the 2000 Gravity Games. In addition to building and developing terrain parks, Chauvet was a Pisten Bully Top Team instructor and assistance in the design and development of the Park Bully.
