The first day of the season is already here for the lucky folks at Silverton Mountain Guides. These hungry riders got their first taste of winter yesterday, September 26th, when they loaded up the chopper and rode 10 lines in Alaska. This marks the earliest the crew has gotten out and gives hope for a strong season up north this winter.

After a steady week of September snowfall, the heli guide crew found pockets of knee deep pow and miles of untracked snow that was deemed stable. The fresh snow and current conditions are some of the best ever encountered this early and made for a banger opening day to the 2016-2017 Alaska Heli season.

Silverton Mountain Guides Alaska Heli is entering their 9th season of operation in Alaska and has bases of operation in Seward, Girdwood, and the Northern Chugach. They are the only heli operation anywhere in Alaska that runs heli trips during November, December and January.
