Rip Curl Hires New VP

Rip Curl has this week announced the appointment of Jeff Kikawa to the position of VP Production and Product Development.

Having grown up in Huntington Beach and worked his life in Orange County, Jeff is highly respected in the industry as a talent in production and merchandising.

Jeff carries a wealth of experience and an eye for precision and detail, having previously worked for Stussy in production, and most recently as VP Production and Merchandising for Paul Frank Industries Inc, a tenure he held almost 4 years. At Paul Frank, Kikawa maintained all aspects of growth related to merchandising and manufacturing, introduced and expanded growth categories, and increased gross profits of all products in all divisions. He was also instrumental in expanding a strong base of overseas manufacturing, and setting company strategy policies and systems.

“We are excited to have Jeff Kikawa as a new member of the Rip Curl team”, said Rip Curl Inc CEO Jimmy Olsson. “Jeff brings a very strong apparel background and a passion for surfing to our crew. It’s people like Jeff that will allow us to reach our goal of being the ultimate surfing company”, Olsson added.

On joining the Rip Curl team Jeff commented, “I am really fired up to be a part this group. I can relate to all the people I work with, the crew is down to earth, relaxed, yet hard working and dedicated to delivering quality product”.

A committed core surfer and board sports enthusiast, Jeff is married with a young two year old boy and a baby girl due in less that 2 weeks time.

Rip Curl will launch their new Spring 04 mens and girlswear apparel lines at the ASR and SURF EXPO tradeshows over the next two weeks.
