Soulstice Freeride Camp, a snowboard and ski camp, will debut this summer on the Palmer Glacier, Timberline, Oregon. The camp will officially usher in the freeride movement to Mt. Hood’s summer scene.

The first camp of its kind in the U.S., Soulstice caters to snowboarders and skiers alike, fostering the cross-cultural relationship and bringing the two sports and athletes together. At Soulstice, campers will have the opportunity to train with top pro riders such as Klas Vangen, Rhonda Doyle, Solomon Arthur, Dan Genidtzki, Steve Salazar, and Eric Pollard.

“This is the most exciting thing to happen on Palmer Glacier in quite a while,” says Rick Wargo, Camp Director. “The energy these two sports generate is amazing! You have to check it out!”

Soulstice offers three, six-day, jam-packed sessions between July 15 and August 5, 2000 for competitive and recreational riders alike. Campers will have access to exclusive Timberline terrain that includes: Super Pipe, Quarter Pipe, Table Tops, Rail Slides, Mogul Lane, and a Super Kicker. Campers will be coached in the latest “new school” riding techniques. They will learn tricks featured in the latest videos, magazines, and competitions, such as Eric Pollard’s signature move, the zero spin.

SFC campers will be able to test the latest gear from companies such as Nike ACG, Nirve Sports, Smith, and Line Skis. Sessions are limited to 50 campers and are expected to sell out quickly. The purposefully smaller sessions Soulstice is offering create a one-on-one environment where coaches can spend more time with campers, helping them achieve their goals.

Soulstice’s off-hill facilities and activities perfectly complement the premium on-hill training. When campers aren’t training, activities like wakeboarding, rafting, and mountain biking will keep them busy until the sun goes down. And when it is time to re-energize, campers will be treated to deluxe overnight accommodations at The Resort at The Mountain with meals catered by Don Guidos Restaurant, a local restaurant known for its hearty Italian/American fare.
