Mountain Dew Signs Shaun White

At only sixteen years of age, Shaun White is arguably the top snowboarder on the planet today and has the potential to earn the same title in the skateboarding world in the very near future. Shaun’s participation in this year’s Summer X Games is unprecedented as he is the first action sports athlete to ever qualify to compete in unique events at both the Summer and Winter X Games. Born, raised and currently residing in San Diego, CA, Shaun’s natural charisma and incredible athletic prowess has quickly propelled him to the top of the podium on countless occasions as well as into the forefront of the media spotlight. According to USA Today, Shaun’s achievements both on and off his board have positioned him to become “the next Tony Hawk. The future of action sports has arrived, and Mountain Dew is very excited to stand behind Shaun White as he pushes snowboarding and skateboarding to unforeseen levels.

Shaun will make his debut as a Mountain Dew athlete at the upcoming 2003 Summer X Games IX in Los Angeles, CA, as he goes for top honors in the Skateboard Vert and Skateboard Vert Best Trick competitions. After already taking home two gold medals at the 2003 Winter X Games, he is poised to re-write the record books as he embarks on his first Summer X Games experience.
