Mathieu Crepel wins DC Snowboarding ‘Hit & Run’ Meribel, France
The second stop of the DC Snowboarding’s ‘Hit & Run’ series just went down in Meribel, France. ‘Hit & Run’ is a unique contest series designed to test a riders all-around riding skills, combining the turns and speed of a traditional banked slalom, with the features of a slopestyle event.
The course in Meribel was insane, running the full length of the Area 43 snow park. The run started with a perfect 22ft Superpipe, then a series of high speed turns, and jumps, through a rail section, back to a jump section, including a gap to toilet bowl at the end. The rider’s overall goal was to get down as fast as they could, while stomping tricks along the way. The better the tricks, the more time deducted off their run. The person with the fastest overall score wins.
Hot off a huge win at Mt Baker’s Legendary Banked Slalom, Mathieu Crepel took the win in Meribel. Mathieu boosted out of the pipe, took a section of the banked turns switch, into a perfect switch back 5 on the big jump.
