MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, CA – Mammoth Value Passes sold out in only 16 days, exceeding last years sales pace and surpassing any pass sale in ski resorthistory. Demand for the $425 Mammoth Value Pass has grown steadily since theprogram inception in 2000.
This year Mammoth initiated a 12-day renewal period for existing passholders and loyal guests. The program proved to be a huge success. BeginningMarch 20th, existing pass holders were provided access to a private websiteallowing them to secure their pass before the published on-sale date. Injust 12 days, over 65% of available passes were sold. The remaining passeswere up for grabs to the general public April 1.
“When we introduced the Mammoth Value Pass program we knew there would comea time when we would need to balance its growth and success against theexperience on the mountain. We think we found that balance after limitingpass sales last season,” said Pam Murphy, Senior Vice President of MammothMountain. “The months we spent planning for the execution of this intensesales window made this years sale an overwhelming success. Two years ago,it took three months to sell out the passes, last year 27 days and this yearonly 16 days.”
On-line sales accounted for 85% of Value Pass sales, a substantial increaseover previous seasons. Improvements made to the online sales process tookthe pressure off frontline and telephone sales agents, and reduced purchasetime for customers.
