VASHON ISLAND, Wash. (March 31, 2004) — K2 Snowboards’ completely revamped sales andmarketing team evolved further today with the promotions of Ryan Runke to international teammanager and Danielle Hambleton to U.S. marketing coordinator. Recently, K2 named JohnO’Connor national sales manager for the snowboard brand, and hired Bernie Bernthal as K2SPORTS brand director for Europe.
Runke will manage all of K2’s pro and amateur team activities from films, to photoshoots,promotions and events. The 2004 K2 pro team is comprised of Wille Yli-Luoma, Louie Fountain,Bobby Meeks, Gretchen Bleiler, Brian Savard, and Jon Kooley. Runke has already hit the road tocatch up with several members of the pro and am teams.
Runke has been snowboarding for 11 years and got his start in the business side of the industryas a writer for the globally distributed North American Guide to Snowboarding in 1997. Later heworked as an assistant manager at One Track Mind snowboard shop, then as a manager andbuyer for the Big Hit Snowboards shop in Breckenridge, Colo. Runke will relocate to Seattle towork out of K2’s Vashon Island, Wash. office by April 15.
Hambleton is stepping up from her current position as customer service supervisor for K2’sSnowboard division to take on the K2 Snowboards marketing coordinator position. She willhandle promotions, events, catalogs, advertising and publicity for the brand.Prior to joining K2’s customer service team in 2001 Hambleton was as an assistant manager forPolar Revolution in Boulder, Colo., and worked as a sales rep and tech rep for NFA/Option. Shegraduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in advertising.
