K2 Snowboarding Adds to Am Team

K2 Snowboarding is proud to announce the addition of three new riders to its Am Team. Catherine Nieves, Chad McPhee, and Leanne Pelosi just signed one-year contracts with the brand for Snowboards, Boots, Bindings, Bags & Packs, and K2 Outerwear. “Building on K2’s already strong Pro Team, I’m really excited about these new additions to our Am Team,” said Kevin English, K2 Snowboarding’s Team Manager. “C-Train (Catherine), Chad, and Leanne are a big part of creating a great and completely diverse team,” continued English.

Catherine Nieves, from New York State, joins the team after several seasons of constant progression. A ruler on the jumps, rails, and in the pipe, Catherine can be seen doing it all in Mammoth and Tahoe this season. “With K2 behind me I’m really confident that I’ll have the season I’ve been wanting for a long time,” says C-Train after coming off a serious injury last season. “The team on K2 is super rad too. They’re all stoked on riding and have fun doing what they love to do,” continued Nieves. “All that energy gets put back into the product as well.” Catherine will be riding the Mix 150cm, Women’s Bindings, Luna boots, and K2 Versa Outerwear.

Hailing from Rossland, British Columbia, Chad McPhee joins atherine on the progressing K2 Snow Team. “I’m stoked to be with K2 because all of the gear design has rider input and testing backing it. The company really cares what the team has to say and it shows in the quality of the gear.” Watch for McPhee to be shredding in the Whistler backcountry all this season on the K2 Zeppelin 162, V9 Bindings, T1 Boots, and K2 Cyclone Outerwear.

The third key person in this new triad is an amazing female from Calgary, Alberta: Ms. Leanne Pelosi. She got her snow skills on lockdown with f/s 270’s on the rails to b/s rodeos on the jumps. Complimenting her snow smarts are her book smarts; she recently graduated with a degree in Biomechanics so Leanne will be a key part in K2’s development of women specific product. “I am excited to ride with K2 because I absolutely love the way the boards ride . . . perfect for everything, from jibbing to backcountry to jumps!”
