JHMR Announces Jackson Hole Banked Slalom

(Teton Village, WY, Feb. 11, 2003)Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Arbor Snowboards, Mountain Dew, and Full Sail Brewing Company are pleased to announce the return of the Jackson Hole Banked Slalom (JHBS), previously known as the Dick’s Ditch Classic, on March 1 and 2.

“We jumped at the chance to sponsor the JHBS and help bring back the Dick’s Ditch tradition. We’d like to see the vibe of the Baker Banked Slalom spread. The best way to do that is build a sister event,” said Arbor’s President Bob Carlson. “Over the years, much of the thinking that has gone into the Arbor line has come from friends who live and ride in the Hole. This is a chance to show a little thanks to team riders like John Griber and Rob Kingwill and a town that has always supported Arbor,” he continued.

Aaron Bray, Full Sail’s Events Coordinator, shared his excitement for the return of the JHBS: “The popularity of Banked Slaloms has really grown in the last couple of years and Jackson Hole’s course is one of the most exciting and challenging I could ever imagine. It’s such a fantastic event here.”

The banked terrain slalom course, located off of Lupine Way, through Dude’s Ditch to Dick’s Ditch, will be open in sections for practice runs on Wednesday, February 26. The full course will be open for practice runs on Friday, February 28. There will not be an opportunity for practice runs on the day of the race.
