Gen-X Sports President and Co-Founder Honored as ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year’
DAYTON, Ohio, Sept. 27 — Huffy Corporation (NYSE:HUF) today announced that James J. Salter, President and co-founder of Gen-X Sports, was awarded the coveted “Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year” award last night (September 26, 2002) at a gala dinner in Toronto, Ontario.
The Entrepreneur of the Year program, founded by Ernst & Young in 1986, which has now grown to include thirty countries, recognizes talent and leadership in honoring the world’s leading entrepreneurs who play a vital role in creating a strong, vibrant economy creating jobs while fulfilling their vision.
In accepting his award, Jamie Salter stated, “I wouldn’t be standing here tonight accepting this award if it were not for the ongoing commitment and dedication of my team at Gen-X; and the support of my wife Sheryl and my four children who have experienced tremendous sacrifices for my vision of building a world-class sporting goods company.”
