Faction Launches Denim Line

Faction, a Seattle-based retailer, announced today their plans for a new line of action sports driven clothing called Faction Denim to be released at the ASR trade show this February 5th – 7th in Long Beach, California.

Faction Denim is a line of clothing designed specifically for the specialty skateboard and snowboard retailer. Dedicated to making clothes that both look good and have specific functions for the consumer – making “clothes that breathe”. From the “Standard Issue” basic jean to the highly inventive “Ventilator” vent pant, the line is a solid mixture of industry standards with functional style and a particular attention to detail. One small example is that all T’s are custom dyed and have no internal tags to avoid chaffing. The washing instruction and size information are printed directly on the inside of the shirt.

Faction has hired the services of IDC, a new design firm out of Los Angeles headed up by well-known industry designers Dan Peterka and Mike Parillo. “We’re just psyched to be working with a company with such great energy and enthusiasm towards skateboarding, snowboarding and art” said Mike Parillo.

“Our marketing strategy is pretty simple,” stated Founder and President Tim Pogue, “we are going to make functional yet stylish clothing, focus a ton of energy on amateur skaters and snowboarders and do a better job than anyone else in dealing with and respecting the specialty retailers.”

He went on to say, “We will have an elite international pro team to help guide the business, but our focus is on what is ‘really going on’ in the streets, on the snow and in the stores”.

“From Tokyo to Cleveland, we don’t care,” Tim said, “the whole point is to support the local scene, the local riders and the local shops. We firmly believe that the local specialty retailers drive the market just as much as the top pro’s, the best magazines or the greatest new videos. We just intend on focusing a little more energy in this area because we’re retailers too and we know what these shops do.”

Retailers can see the new line at this year’s ASR show or call Faction for their local rep to get a private showing. The t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts will be in stores this spring and the pants this summer.
