The Dew Tour 2014 Street finals took over the streets of downtown Breckenridge Friday night. Throngs of hyped spectators lined the streets, while 10 riders, comprised of a solid contingency of Summit County locals, took to the setup built by Keystone’s Area51 park crew. The jam session was timed at 25 minutes, and created an action packed environment that propagated the overall stoke of the swelling crowd.
Darcy Sharpe, last year’s Streetstyle winner, came out swinging and owned the course winning Best Overall Rider which earned him 5,000 dollars and bragging rights until next year. During the jam session, he lapped the course and stomped trick after trick, showcasing his dominance in streetstyle riding. His consistency helped elevate his score, which ultimately earned him first place.
"The course was fun," said Sharpe. "It was quicker than last year, so everybody rode a lot better, and everybody rode really good, so it was fun. Having a course where you can shred and enjoy it is what it's all about. I like just the classic downbar, and the crates were fun. It was interesting – not features you get to hit in a park, so it was super fun."
The jam format allowed the riders to rally the course as many times as they could handle which made for tons of tricks getting thrown down.
