Da Kine Adds To Product Development Team

Director of Product Development Joins Da Kine from Salomon —

HOOD RIVER, Ore., August 30, 2002- Da Kine has announced the addition of three new members to its product development team, including Greg Meyer as the new Director of Product Development. Greg replaces Erik Hauge, who leaves Da Kine to pursue a lifelong dream of sailing around the world. Two newly created positions have also been added to the department, with Charlie Burwell joining as Windsport Product Manager, and Nate Devol as Packs and Bags Developer.

With over 12 years of industry experience, Meyer joins Da Kine from Salomon, where he most recently was Senior Product Line Manager for Apparel. At Salomon since 1998, Meyer previously held the position of Product Manager for Accessories. In that capacity he was responsible for design, development and marketing of accessories including gloves, hats, belts, socks and accessories.

At Da Kine, Meyer will oversee product development teams for packs and bags, accessories, surf, and windsports, as well as the research and development team. Working with these teams, he will be responsible for new innovative design concepts, and strengthening development logistics.

Burwell’s 10 plus years in the industry include positions in specialty retail, as sales representative for Ride Snowboards, and most recently, a sales and marketing position with North Sports, a windsurfing and kiteboarding distributor. At Da Kine, Burwell will be responsible for development and sourcing of all windsports products, and will assist the Windsport Product Designer, Kevin Young, with design. Burwell will also manage Da Kine’s merchandising and POP program.

Moving to Da Kine from neighboring Full Sail Brewery, where he held the position of Point-of-Sale Merchandise Coordinator, Devol will assist on the development and sourcing of Da Kine’s extensive, trend-setting line of packs and bags.

Other key members of the product development team include Dave Bisset, Senior Product Manager, responsible for all pack and bag product development; Mark Anderson, Accessory Product Manager, in charge of accessory product development for the winter, surf, and skate product categories; and Leslie Pyfer, Director of Sourcing and Manufacturing.
