The two major retail buying groups in the winter sports industry, Ski Merchandising Corporation (SMC) and Sports Specialists Ltd. (SSL) are pleased to announce Winter Sports Market 2001, a trade show, at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colorado, February 10-12, 2001.

“We had a very positive experience this past year in Denver. The Convention Center is a first rate facility and the convenience of being downtown was appreciated by both retailers and suppliers alike,” stated Tom Gately, Managing Director of SMC.

Tom went on to say, “We believe our format is the best in the business. Hardgoods suppliers are able to give efficient, close-ended presentations to small groups of retailers. Softgoods suppliers get the exposure of working with over 100 of the finest specialty ski and snowboard shops in the country.”

New this year: SMC and SSL are coordinating Winter Sports Market 2001 with WWSRA’s Rocky Mountain Trade Fair at Copper Mountain. SSL President, Steve Rogers stated “We are very pleased to be working with the fine people of WWSRA and with Intrawest’s World Class Copper Mountain Resort.”

Steve went on to state, “Buyers will have the opportunity to test new equipment and then immediately view programs and pricing. This unique opportunity to share information along with the “on hill” experience with fellow retailers, will give our buyers the tools to make informed buying decisions.”

As in the past, each buying group will be responsible for their own schedules and invitation process. Logistics will be coordinated for a seamless production.
