Burton Snowboards announced today that Jeff Boliba has been hired as Resort and LTR Program Manager.

In this position Jeff will have a key role in the relations with existing, and future LTR ìMethod Centersî. LTR (Learn-to-Ride) Method Centers are resorts that have teamed up with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) and Burton Snowboards to provide a snowboard program to help new riders learn to snowboard in a pain-free environment. In this role Jeff will be in frequent contact with existing Method Centers to make sure their needs are fulfilled. Method Centers for the 2000/01 season include: Killington, VT; Mount Snow, VT; Stowe Mountain Resort, VT; Mountok, NS; Park City Mountain Resort, UT; Mountain Creek, NJ: Okemo Resort, VT; Stratton Mountain Resort, VT; Vail, CO; Beaver Creek, CO; Cypress Mountain, BC.

Jeff will be in charge of all resort based programs including implementation and expansion of the Method Center program. Jeff will also work closely with the members of AASI to further the development of teaching methods, and make the learning experience and product better in the future. Jeff will also be involved in working with Burton Snowboards marketing department to help Burton resorts market to snowboarders and get exposure for the 2001Method Centers. Other resort programs for 2001 include Kidís Center, Demo Center, Speed Center and LTR Rental Centers.

For the time being, Jeff will work from his home office in Park City, but on September 1st Jeff will move to Burlington, VT and join the rest of the Burton family. He will be working closely with LTR product manager, Stephen Cleary, on product development; Shawn Cattanach, who is an AASI East Regional Team Instructor and Burton employee, will also be collaborating on teaching methodology. Together they will continue to work with Stowe Mountain Resort, which is our development center, to improve the LTR product and Method Center programs.

Jeff is originally from Fremont, California, where he worked at Niles Ski and Bike. He then went on to acquire a degree in Sports Marketing & Recreational Promotions from Fort Lewis University in Durango, Colorado. Jeff then moved to Park City where he was first a mountain host, snowboard operations manager and then marketing manager. During his stay at Park City, Jeff expanded the snowboard program from nothing, to a very successful program for riders of all abilities.

Jeff has been riding for 15 years and is very excited to bring his experience and expertise to Burton. Jeff has worked at Brighton Resort in Utah, Purgatory Resort in Colorado and Park City Mountain Resort in Utah. With lots of time on snow, Jeff has the knowledge and passion for snowboarding needed for his new position. During his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and eleven month old son and coaching and playing volleyball.
