BURLINGTON, VT – April 23, 2002- Bread, music and snowboarding – these are the things Clark Staub is passionate about. It’s no accident that these interests have also occupied Staub’s professional life. He loves to bake bread, so four years ago he founded a thriving artisan bread bakery, gourmet retail shop and café. He loves music, so he spent 17 years in the music business, creating marketing campaigns for bands like Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters and Everclear. And he loves snowboarding, so he will soon assume the role as Vice President, Director of Marketing at Burton Snowboards.

Staub is a firm believer in intertwining his life passions with his work. He is currently the President, CEO and founder of Full of Life Village Baker at the base of Mt. Baldy in California, which turns a lucrative profit annually. He worked in the music business for nearly two decades, most recently as the Vice President of Marketing at Capitol Records. Staub has extensive experience marketing music artists on a global level, managing marketing budgets for record releases and instituting programs to promote artists like Radiohead, Mazzy Star and the Beastie Boys.

In his new role at Burton, Staub will be the image-keeper of the Burton brand and guardian of The Process. He must command a vision of where the brand is going and ensure that the brand remains completely rider-driven. Staub will oversee every department in Marketing including Team Management, Public Relations, Advertising (websites, catalogs, in-store merchandising and packaging) and Events. In addition, he will direct marketing initiatives for all Burton snow brands in all regions of the world where Burton has a presence.

Staub has been riding and following the snowboard industry for 13 years. Back in the day, he was a competitive skateboarder and worked at Concrete Wave, the nation’s second skate park. Staub’s passion for snowboarding, music industry experience and thriving entrepreneurial ventures will help him successfully run Burton’s Marketing Department. David Schriber, former Vice President, Director of Marketing at Burton and current Senior Vice President, General Manager at Gravis Footwear had this to say about Staub: “Clark’s life story leading up to this move to Burton almost looks scripted: a back story in skate, snow, and specialty retail; volumes of experience in promoting talented people within youth culture; a chapter in pursuing his passion for riding while building a successful small business. Now the plot is really going to get interesting at Burton.”

Burton Snowboards, the world’s first snowboard factory, is the only pure snowboard company solely dedicated to creating and perfecting a full-range of the best snowboarding products on the planet. Led by founder and owner Jake Burton, widely considered the pioneer of snowboarding, Burton’s passion is snowboarding – evident by their overriding mission to open snowboarding at every mountain resort.

Celebrating 25 years in 2002, Burton has fueled the growth of snowboarding worldwide through continuous work with, and support of, their Global Team riders and development of successful programs such as Learn-To-Ride (LTR), The Chill Foundation, and the US Open Snowboarding Championships.
