Norwegian Andreas Ygre Wiig, recognized as one of the World’s super rippers, received news yesterday that he had been awarded with a TAC Wildcard from Terje Hà¥konsen and The Arctic Challenge. – For me, beeing invited to The Arctic Challenge, is an honour. I remember for the first years I was snowboarding, all of us were really looking up to Terje, admiring his style. Now, beeing invited to his own competition, is like a dream come true, says Andreas Ygre Wiig.

Andreas rarely rides competitions. But when he shows up, he turn heads. His caracteristic and strong style, is easy recogniciable. So far this season, Andreas has placed 3rd at X-Games and had impressive showings at the first Vans Triple Crown Competition. For the last couple of years, Andreas has gained super strong videoparts in the main US snowboard film productions. This year is not an assumption, that`s for sure. His part in the Fourstar movie Videogangs, are one of this years best video performances. So it was no surprise when Terje called in and told that he wanted to give this seasons first Wildcard to the Norwegian style master.

– From backcontry freeriding to high backside airs in the halfpipe, Andreas does it all with ease and style, says Terje Hà¥konsen, and continues: “Beeig a good allround rider is very important at TAC. We try to focus on all the different aspects of snowboarding, so beeing able to ride it all, just like Andreas, is important.
