Whistler, BC, February 9, 2000 ¿ Whistler’s second annual FUJI Pro Photographer Search invites all action-sports photographers to compete for the chance to showcase their work during North America’s premier snowsport festival, the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. The Search, presented in part by Transworld Snowboarding and Freeze magazines, is a celebration of epic moments in action sports, and a tribute to the artists whose passion enables them to capture these moments on film.
Photographers are invited to submit a slide page of 20 action-sports images for consideration by March 6. Six finalists will be chosen to present a 12-minute slide show at one of two public screenings, April 17 and 18. The talented photographer who is chosen Best of Show will be awarded the honour of showing his or her work among the world’s best at the FUJI International Pro Photographer Showdown on April 20.
“The FUJI Pro Photographer Search is a great opportunity for professionals and amateurs alike to showcase their work, not only to the public but to the industry, the media, and fellow artists as well,” says Jack Turner, Commissioner, FUJI Pro Photographer Search. “As with all art forms, the difficulty is often in getting your work shown. The tremendous growth in the scope of the FUJI Pro Photographer events offers photographers an ideal venue to do just that.”
