NEW YORK — August 10, 2007 — The AST Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, will host a Snowboard Rail Jam as a specialty competition during the upcoming Vans® Invitational in Portland, Oregon. Ten talented riders will show off their best tricks during the rail jam from 9:15 to 10 p.m. Saturday, August 18. The third stop of the AST Dew Tour, the Vans® Invitational, takes place August 16-19 at Portland’s Rose Quarter.

Local rider Colin Langlois, 26, of Ashland, Ore. is eager to best his third place finish at last year’s Snowboard Rail Jam at the Vans® Invitational. He will have some competition from last years’ second place finisher, 22-year-old Chris Rotax of Monktona, Vt. Coming into this event with a win at the 2007 Vans Cup at Tahoe is 18-year-old Lucas Magoon of Ludlow, Vt. Rounding out the 10-man competition are riders Pat Milberry of Saint Paul, Minn., Jonas Michilot, 19, of Blomington Minn., Silas Stannard, 21, of Tollhouse, Calif., Mike Casanova, 22, of Hudson, Wis., Zac Marben, 19, of Eden Prairie, Minn., Travis Kennedy and Charles Reid.

Riders will begin each run perched atop a 30-foot snow-covered platform and then snowboard down the course to perform tricks on a handrail with ledges on either side. Each rider will be allowed one introductory run, followed by a 30-minute jam session that includes all the athletes. Fans can catch the Rail Jam from 9:15 to 10 p.m. outside the Rose Quarter.

Entering its third year, the AST Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Attendance for the 2006 AST Dew Tour totaled nearly 250,000 and an average of 38 million viewers tuned in via NBC and USA each year. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year’s Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup which will be awarded in Orlando at season’s end to champions in each of the six disciplines.
