Valle Nevado, Chile—Open and Fully Operational

~ Santiago, Chile ~

Valle Nevado, South America’s premier ski resort, located 37 miles from Santiago, is fully open and operational following storms this past week that have left an accumulation of 7 feet of snow. The resort is also happy to announce the launch of its newly renovated 5-star Hotel Valle Nevado, in addition to its 4-star Hotel Puerta del Sol and 3-star Hotel Tres Puntas, both of which were totally renovated in 2009. Valle Nevado, a visionary leader in resort management, has undertaken an ambitious Master Development Plan that will invest nearly $150 million during the next decade to create a true mountain resort village high in the Andes. Other novelties include 2 new lifts and the creation of 5 new runs, named “Happiness,” “I’m in a Meeting,” Chao Smog,” “The Kiss,” and “Full Lungs,” the latter referring to the highest run at the resort at nearly 12,000 feet.

Valle Nevado currently offers the most modern lift system in South America and access to 7,000 acres, the largest skiable domain on the continent. In 2012 the resort will install the first ski center gondola in Chile, with access to a newly developed day visitor parking lot that will feature shops, ski rental, a ticket booth and restaurants.
