PARK CITY, Utah (Jan. 14, 2005) -- For snowboarders looking to launch their riding into the spotlight, U.S. Snowboarding has the perfect venue: it’s first “Ride with US video contest. Riders are encouraged to bust out their cameras and record their best snowboard session in hopes of winning the grand prize of a week-long trip for two to Windells Snowboard Camp along with other gear from contest sponsors. The top video might even find its way into one of U.S Snowboarding’s national television shows.
“The video contest is about riding and supporting the kids that are out snowboarding and having fun, said U.S. Snowboarding Program Director Jeremy Forster. “Everywhere snowboarders are filming their sessions with their friends. We’re stoked to be able to create a contest that gives them a place to show what they’re doing and win some great prizes for doing it.”
The contest, which runs from Jan. 14-March 31, 2005, is supported by Windells, Smith Optics, Burton Snowboards, Anon, Head Snowboards, MTX Audio and Breckenridge Resort.
The Grand Prize winner will receive two camp packages to a Windells Snowboard Camp session this summer and will get to ride the best parks, pipes, and rails that the Mt. Hood summer scene has to offer.
The ‘Ride With US’ video contest is open to all ages (participants under 18 must have parental consent). There are no restrictions on the video’s length, but the total file size cannot exceed 3 mb. Acceptable formats include .mov, .mpg, .asx or .wmv. Currently, U.S. Snowboarding is working on working on a feature video of its crew competing, freeriding and traveling around the globe. The best video clips may be incorporated into the DVD as well.
Once a video is posted to the site, the voting process begins. Anyone can vote for the videos, which will be posted online. Ultimately, the winner will be decided by a panel of U.S. Snowboarding coaches and riders.
