The Meeting- Celebrating Snow Film and Culture in Aspen.

This fall, Aspen/Snowmass will host one of the most exciting and innovative events in the ski/snowboard industry. The Meeting, September 22-25, is an industry-driven event bringing the snow-crazed local community the new crop of ski/snowboard films from producers such as Poor Boyz Productions, Standard Films, Teton Gravity Research, and 1242 Productions & The Community.

The film showings will be surrounded by parties and events with the top ski and snowboard pros featured in the films, the film makers themselves, and other industry influencers discussing trends and stories behind this year’s features.

“The industry needs a pre-season gathering that matters,” said David Perry, Senior Vice President, Aspen Skiing Company. “This is the time of year that the anticipatory energy for winter is starting to peak – the perfect time for the cultural icons of the industry to show their best work.”

The weekend is a kick-off to winter and a sneak preview of the films the world will see on tour. All movie showings are open to the public at various venues around Aspen including Aspen’s historic Wheeler Opera House and Belly Up, Aspen’s newest hot spot.

The Sky Hotel will be ground zero for the weekend, hosting a kick-off celebration, pool parties, nightly bar gatherings and industry room rates.

Films scheduled to be shown include both War and Pop Yer Bottlez! from Poor Boyz Productions, Paradox from Standard Films, The Tangerine Dream from Teton Gravity Research and The Community Snow Project from 1242 Productions & The Community. A complete schedule of films will be available soon.

The Meeting will give everyone the chance to check out the top ski and snowboard films of the year and serve as an early season gathering of the top players in the industry.
