Telluride Reopens After Heavy Snowfall

TELLURIDE, Colo. (March 3, 2004)-The Telluride Ski Resort resumes regularoperations tomorrow, March 4, after a massive storm caused a regional poweroutage last Sunday. All 16 lifts, including the gondola, will open andclose at regularly scheduled times beginning tomorrow.

“On behalf of the ski area, we want to thank all of those who helpedresolve the situation swiftly,” said Jeff Proteau, vice president mountainoperations for Telluride Ski Resort. “The local governments and TellurideHelitrax provided crucial support that allowed the power company to safelyrepair the transmission line. We’re back on track for an epic skiseason.”

Since Friday, Feb. 27, Telluride received nearly three feet of snow,bringing the top of the mountain base to 75 inches. For more information,call Telski Communications at 728-7409.
