Swatch Boardercross Hits Snowmass, Mountain High

New York, NY, ¿ The world’s top snowboarders get ready to race down the slopes of Aspen o Snowmass, Colorado, and Mountain High Resort, Wrightwood, California (LA County) in the prestigious Swatch Boardercross® World Tour.

The most exciting event in snowboarding, Boardercross features six riders simultaneously racing down an obstacle-laden course. The first rider across the finish line wins. Each event offers a $40,000 cash purse.

Since its inception in 1993, Boardercross pioneered by Swatch, has attracted a world wide following of top athletes. Over 14 nations will be represented at the two US stops of the Swatch Boardercross World Tour. Snowboard stars attending, include:

— Bertrand Denervaud (SUI) ¿ former World Champion, 3rd place 1999 Swatch Boardercross World Tour at Copper Mtn., CO.
–Tor Bruserud (NOR) – #2 ranked ISF Boardercross, 1st place 1999 Vans Triple Crown BX, Breckenridge, CO.
–Marguerite Cossentini (AUS) – #1 ranked ISF Boardercross, winner of the 1999 Swatch Boardercross Canyons, UT.
–Drew Neilson (CAN) ¿ 1st place of the 1999 Swatch Boardercross Copper Mtn., CO. and the US Grand Prix BX Copper, CO 1999.

For the U.S. events Island Def Jam Records will provide live music. A festival-like atmosphere will showcase the lifestyle, culture and soul of snowboarding. The events are open to all male and female riders, and entry fees are $150 including lift tickets, parties and more.
