Squaw Valley’s Film and Video Festival

Squaw Valley, CA– Action ski and snowboard photography and video fromaround the world highlight the ninth annual ‘In The Mood’ benefit, December13, 2002 at the Resort at Squaw Creek.

“This event continues to grow in popularity,” says Robert Frohlich, one ofthe organizers for the charitable evening. “It’s a fun party, a celebrationof the coming of winter, and a great way to give back to the community.”

The evening program showcases the talents of the biggest names in snowsportphotography and video. Featured artists include filmmakers Scott Gaffney,Tom Day, Craig Beck and Steve Siig. Nationally recognized photographersinclude Keoki Flagg, Dave Norehad, Robyn Scarton, Aaron Sedway, and Hank deVre.

“It’s seldom, if ever, to see this type of talent under one roof,” says deVre, whose professional imagery is annually featured in Powder, Ski, Skiing,and Freeze. “These people are today’s forefront of ski photography.”

Also featured is a tribute to the late Aaron Martin. Martin, a popular Tahoeresident and notable adventurer, died this past spring attempting a firstdescent of Alaska’s Mount Saint Elias, the second tallest peak in the UnitedStates.

All ages are welcome. There is no admission charge. The show begins at 7pmand beverages are available. A huge raffle with over 150 prizes is also partof the night’s festivities. Grand prize is an adult mid-week pass to SquawValley. Proceeds benefit the North Tahoe High School Ski Team and TruckeeCommunity Christmas Inc., an organization that helps feed the less fortunateover the holidays. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the door before andthroughout the event.
