Squaw Valley USA’s 50th Anniversary Season

Squaw Valley USA Squaw Valley USA will open for skiing and snowboardingWednesday, November 24, 1999, kicking off the resort’s celebratory 50thAnniversary Season – exactly fifty years from it’s grand opening on November24, 1949.

Lifts scheduled for operation (weather permitting) include, The Cable Carand Funitel, as well as Siberia Express, Shirley Lake Express, Mainline,East Broadway, Belmont, Bailey’s Beach and Links. Opening day lift ticketprices are $39 for adults ($29 for adult afternoon tickets 1-4pm); juniors(13-15 years) and seniors (65-75 years) $19; children 12 and under $5;seniors 75 years and older are free.

Squaw Valley’s High Camp Bath and Tennis Club, el. 8,200, is also open forice skating, dining and wonderful views of Lake Tahoe. Starting Wednesday,the Cable Car operates daily from 9am until 4pm. Cable Car rides are $14 foradults and children 12 and under are $5.

New this season, Squaw Valley USA has installed two high-speed six-passengerchairlifts and as well as a Magic Carpet lift at Children’s World. Inaddition, the Olympic House Sundeck has been expanded by 5,000 square feet,more than doubling the available seating to take in the classic Californiasunshine and surrounding views of the resort.
