We're officially neck deep in awards season.

Following hot on the tail of last week's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards nominations, comes this week's ESPY's nominations. It should come as no surprise that yet again Olympians, Shaun White, Red Gerard, Jamie Anderson, and Chloe Kim have all snagged a chance at the coveted award. However, this time they are not alone and have been joined by a fellow snowboarder, Marcus Kleveland, as well as handicapped snowboarders, Mike Schultz and Brenna Huckaby.

Unlike the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, however, this time there will be no slime. Instead, the before mentioned riders will don fancy suits, and extravagant dresses to walk the red carpet with the some of the best athletes from all corners of the world. Other nominees include but are not limited to, Tom Brady, Kevin Durant, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Antonio Brown.

This year's awards ceremony comes on an Olympic year, and as such, has many additional categories in which snowboarders have been nominated. The list of snowboarder nominations is as follows: Best Female Athlete (Chloe Kim), Best Olympic Moment (Shaun White), Best Male Olympian (Shaun White and Red Gerard), Best Female Olympian (Chloe Kim and Jamie Anderson), Best Male Action Sports Athlete (Marcus Kleveland), Best Female Action Sports Athlete (Chloe Kim and Jamie Anderson), Best Male Athlete with a Disability (Mike Schultz), and Best Female Athlete with a Disability (Brenna Huckaby). You can find the complete list of nominees, and enter your votes for your favorites, here.

So, mark your calendars yet again. It is due time we root for our fellow sideways standing friends on the world stage once more. While it is surely unfortunate that this ceremony won't contain the same slime factor as the looming Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, we can revel in the added value of red carpet attire. Shaun White, we are looking at you, please impress.
