Smith Revamps Turbo C.A.M.

KETCHUM, Idaho, January 22, 2004 — Smith Optics is proud to introduce its re-designed patented Turbo C.A.M. Series goggles, the Prodigy, Disciple and Knowledge OTG. The Turbo C.A.M. has been an elite offering from Smith since 1981, and sets the standard in goggle performance, standing up to the rigors of the most stringent snow sports.

The three goggles offered for 2004 are all-new styles that have been lowered in price as much as $70.00, making the line more affordable to a broader range of consumers. “We felt that by offering the Turbo C.A.M. models at lower price-points we could reach a larger audience and allow more people to take advantage of the cutting-edge technology and benefits of Turbo C.A.M. goggles, stated David Olson, Smith Optics’ sales manager.

The central component in the Turbo C.A.M. Series is Smith’s patented Constant Air Management (C.A.M.) technology, which features a silent, micro-electronic fan that runs continuously to draw air out of strategically positioned vents and eliminate lens fogging. The fan can also be set on high power mode to quickly exhaust moisture buildup in extreme weather conditions.

Leading the Turbo C.A.M. Series is the Prodigy. Its sleek computer-aided design and spherical lens offers an unsurpassed field of vision. Combined with Smith’s Articulating Outrigger Positioning System’ the Prodigy provides for an excellent fit, with or without a helmet. The Disciple and the Knowledge OTG goggles are also new to the line. Both feature dual density compression molded foam for facial comfort and Smith’s exclusive molded articulating strap system that provides quick and easy adjustment. The Knowledge OTG features a spacious lens chamber, making it compatible with most prescription eyewear. Additionally, all three goggles have custom painted frames, Carbonic-X’ lenses, and are easily paired with an optional ODS (Ocular Docking System) Rx insert.

Available in ski and snowboard shops world-wide, the Turbo C.A.M. goggles are available with custom graphite paint and a variety of lens tints that are suitable for any snow sport activity. The Prodigy Turbo C.A.M. retails for$160.00 with a standard lens and $180.00 for mirrored lenses.
