October 23, 2018 – With all-time epic October snow conditions in Alaska this year Silverton Mountain Guides opened for the season this past weekend on October 20th!  A massive series of winter storms that caused widespread flooding in Seward, Alaska has left the mountains plastered in deep snow.  More than 12 feet of new snow have fallen in the past week, and more snow is in the forecast.

When the sun came out on Saturday, the Silverton Mountain Guides were amazed to find mid-winter conditions at elevation and promptly opened up for the season.  With more snow in the forecast the snowboarding could not be any better.

Silverton Mountain Guides Alaska Heli (established in 2008) is a year-round Alaska based business and has bases of operation in Seward, Girdwood, and the Northern Chugach. Silverton Mountain Guides is the only heli boarding operation located in Alaska that runs regularly scheduled heli boarding for the full winter season.
