Vashon, WA (February 14, 2005)—That’s right, Ride’s 3rd Annual Snowboard Art Competition is about to kick off! With approximately 200 entries this year, the Top 50 in addition to the 7 Prize Winners will be on display at the Opening Reception and Preview Party going down on Friday, February 18th at the Rio Grande Restaurant in downtown Steamboat Springs, CO. An early viewing will take place at 5:00 pm with the reception kicking off at 10:00 pm ’til we close the place down.

In addition to those chosen by Ride’s judges as the Best of Show, 1st thru 3rd Runners-Up and Top 3 Honorable Mentions, those who show up at the Opening will have a chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award. For a $1 donation to The Surfrider Foundation’s Snowrider Project, anyone can vote for their favorite entry to win a box full of Ride goods. The Surfrider Foundation’s Snowrider Project is an educational initiative designed to provide a greater understanding of the hydrologic cycle and foster public stewardship of our mountain and downstream watersheds.

Also at the Opening, Ride will auction off one of the super limited five snowboards featuring last year’s winning artwork by Adam Reitz. Money raised from the snowboard auction will go to support the efforts of the local non-profit Artlink Steamboat.
