Park City, UT—Building on a legacy of providing the best young riders in the country with top quality competition venues, U.S. Snowboarding announces the 2007 Chevrolet Revolution Tour, a five-stop series designed to boost riders to the next level of elite competition.

“The Revolution Tour helps young riders make the jump to the next level of competition,” said Ellery Hollingsworth, a two-time Revolution Tour winner and silver medalist at the 2006 Junior World Championships. Hollingsworth scored a spot this season on the U.S. Snowboarding Rookie Team. “The contests are fun and mellow, however, you also want to push yourself to do as well because you’re competing for a spot on the Junior World’s team. Last year I was able to travel to Korea for Junior Worlds, one of the most serious Junior contests out there.”

The tour opens in the Midwest with a Jan. 12-14 stop at Spirit Mountain, MN, before heading to the Rockies and Copper Mountain, CO, Jan. 26-28. The tour then moves to the Northwest and Mt. Bachelor, OR, Feb. 9-10, and rockets back to the East with a March 2-4 stop at Okemo, VT. Each event will feature halfpipe, slopestyle, snowboardcross competitions with rail events planned for both Spirit and Copper Mountains. The final stop of the tour goes down on Oregon’s Mt. Hood in June.*

On the line is $10,000 in prize money, plus the top male and female junior riders receive an invitation to train with Project Gold, an opportunity to ride with U.S. Snowboarding at their annual summer camp and serves as a qualifying event for making the Junior World Championships team. Overall tour winners will also pre-qualify for the 2008 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix tour, the US Open and the 2007 USASA Open Class Nationals.

The 2007 edition of the Chevrolet Revolution Tour is also partnering with the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR), the largest culmination of independent Freestyle events across the globe. As a two star event, winners of the Revolution Tour stops will receive 400 points towards winning the overall TTR title. For more information, check out
