Norway and Italy prepare for the first Ticket to Ride Qualifying Events of 2005!

With the ‘The O’Neill SB-Jam’ having successfully delivered Pro Freestyle snowboarding to thousands of spectators in Davos, Switzerland during the last days of 2004, the tour focus has now turned to a busy January with two TTR Qualifying Events being held in the next two weeks!

Top riders from TTR Qualifying Events (TTR QE) will receive “Tickets to Ride” at selected TTR Pro Series tour stops, of which winners gain spots to the Pro Freestyle tours Grande Finale event; “The Arctic Challenge”(TAC).

“The Arctic Challenge”(TAC), hosted by Terje Haakonsen himself, gives both pros and rookies alike a chance to qualify via TTR QE and TTR Pro Series events throughout the season. The Pro Series calendar leading up to “The Arctic Challenge”(TAC) consists of the most powerful event formats, course structures, rider hospitality, media output and spectator appeal. The locations are breathtaking locations; the entertainment guaranteed.

The TTR QE series (10 stops) allows TTR Pro Series events (9 stops) to designate entry “Tickets” into their competition via a TTR Qualifying Event. This qualifying system offers emerging riders the chance to gain access into a TTR Pro Series event, bringing them one step closer to winning one of seventeen “Tickets to Ride” to the season finale “The Arctic Challenge”.

This months third TTR QE was cancelled today due to thin snow conditions affecting many resorts throughout Europe this season. “The Vans Superpipe Challenge” ( was to be held from 7th-9th January 2005 in Grindelwald, Switzerland. The winning Halfpipe Ticket was designated for the TTR Pro Series Event the “Burton European Open” (BEO) in Laax and will now be designated to qualification riders competing directly at the BEO event.
