Mt. High Swatch BX Feb. 17-19

New York, NY, ¿ The world’s top snowboarders get ready for the second US stop of the Swatch Boardercross World Tour in Mountain High, CA, February 17-19, 2000.

The most exciting event in snowboarding, Boardercross features six riders simultaneously racing down an obstacle-laden course. The first rider across the finish line wins. The event offers a $40,000 cash purse.

Since its inception in 1993, Boardercross pioneered by Swatch, has attracted a world wide following of top athletes. Over 14 nations will be represented at the Swatch Boardercross® World Tour presented by Big Star Jeans. International snowboard stars attending, include:

–Shaun Palmer (USA) ¿ Reigning World Boardercross Champion and three time X Games Champion
–Phillipe Conte (FRA) ¿ #2 ranked ISF Boardercross, 2nd place 2000 Swatch Boardercross Snowmass/Aspen, CO.Vans
–Bertrand Denervaud (SUI) ¿ former World Champion, 3rd place 1999 Swatch Boardercross World Tour at Copper Mtn., CO.
–Tor Bruserud (NOR) – #3 ranked ISF Boardercross, 1st place 1999 Vans Triple Crown BX, Breckenridge, CO.
–Marguerite Cossentini (AUS) – #10 ranked ISF Boardercross, winner of the 2000 Swatch Boardercross Aspen/Snowmass, CO
–Drew Neilson (CAN) ¿ 1st place of the 1999 Swatch Boardercross Copper Mtn., CO. and the US Grand Prix BX Copper, CO 1999.
–Ine Poetzl (AUT) ¿ 2nd ranked ISF Boardercross, 2nd place at Swatch Boardercross 2000 Aspen/Snowmass, CO.
–Christoph Maierhofer (AUT) ¿ 1st ranked ISF Boardercross, 1st place Swatch Boardercross, Canyons, UT 1999

The Mountain High event will showcase live in concert, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack provided by Island Def Jam Records. A festival-like atmosphere will showcase the lifestyle, culture and soul of snowboarding. The event is open to all male and female riders, and entry fees are $150 including lift tickets, parties and more.
