Irvine, CA (October 9, 2007) – Gravis Footwear proudly welcomes Mikkel Bang to its team of professional snowboarders. The 17-year old Norwegian is now the youngest rider on the Gravis team and joins the likes of Romain De Marchi, Trevor Andrew, JP Solberg and Heikki Sorsa.
“I couldn’t be more stoked to bring Banger onto Gravis, he is a great addition to the crew of riders, surfers and artists that we already have! said Dave Driscoll, Snow Team Manager. “With the recent addition of Heikki Sorsa and now Mikkel I’m excited to see the momentum they will bring to the brand moving forward into the future.
Born and bred from the Burton family, Mikkel started riding at the young age of seven and year after year has progressed his snowboarding skills and style. During the 2007 season, Mikkel won the AM division at Air and Style and took home first at the New Zealand Open in slopestyle. In years past, Mikkel has filmed with Standard Films as a member of the “smalls” team and has been filming most recently with a crew of Burton riders.
“I’m really looking forward to joining Gravis -- they make great shoes and bags says Mikkel. “The crew is awesome and I can’t wait to meet new people and make new friends with the team.
