At Least Four Lifts Will Open Including the Cornice Express Quad with Skiing from the Top of the Mountain
Kirkwood, Calif.- Officials at Kirkwood Mountain Resort announced today that they will open to the public for the 2002/2003 season on Saturday, November 16 with at least four lifts including the Cornice Express Quad to the top of the mountain, which accesses some of the resort’s most popular advanced terrain. In addition to the Cornice Express, Chairs 1, 5 and 11 will be open accessing beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain and it’s possible that Chair 10 will also open.
Base depths range from 20 to 48 inches of natural snow and the resort is adding to those depths with round the clock snowmaking, giving the resort the best early season conditions in several years. The resort will open with full services including the Adult Ski and Board School, Mighty Mountain Children’s Ski School, Ski and Snowboard Rentals, Dining and Retail.
Reduced lift ticket rates will be in effect. Call ahead at 877-KIRKWOOD for prices. Guests who stay on the mountain can take advantage of Kirkwood’s Stay and Ski Free packages available every day through December 19, 2002.
