Wind Delays FIS Snowboarding World Championships

LA MOLINA, Spain (Jan. 21) – Due to high wind gusts organizers for the FIS Snowboarding World Championships have postponed qualifiers for both the slopestyle and parallel slalom events.  The new schedule will be announced tonight after team leaders meeting.

Some riders were able to get runs off before the weather hit.  The men’s first heat of slopestyle took place and the top three men to qualify for finals were Niklas Mattsson of Sweden, Seppe Smits of Belgum, and Ville Paumola Finland.  One run of the ladies parallel slalom was also able to go off before the races were postponed.
