A head-banging tribute to the days when 80’s metal ruled ~ Tickets On Sale NOW!

[Squaw Valley USA] April 1, 2009 – In spring of 2007 snowboard film legends, Mike and Dave Hatchett celebrated their birthday, with their band FORTRESS and special metal royalty guests, and played an unforgettable concert for 500 of their closest friends. The party was such a hit that Standard Films and Squaw Valley decided to make it an annual bash, open to the public. In its third year, the Hatchett Brothers’ 80’s Metal Bash featuring FORTRESS and special guests from Judas Priest and Racer X, is slated to be the party of the season – once again. The 3rd Annual Hatchett Brothers’ 80’s Metal Bash is set to make heads bang on April 11, 2009 in the Olympic Village Lodge.

“Fortress shows are a combination of Tahoe's finest athletes and characters off stage, plus a motley assortment of pro musicians joining the band on stage to make for a unique concert experience,” says FORTRESS guitarist Dave Hatchett. “The Metal Bash is definitely one of the best parties of the year, so come help celebrate another great season at Squaw – rock out, and come get your shred on.”

FORTRESS’ head banger’s ball is Saturday, April 11 at the Olympic Village Lodge. Doors open at 8 pm and the show starts at 9 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and are on sale now at Porter's in Tahoe City and Truckee (cash only). Partygoers must be 21 & up and “dress metal.”

Formed by snowboard film pioneers Mike and Dave Hatchett, FORTRESS has been delivering explosive performances of original and cover music for nearly twenty years. Songs include covers from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and originals inspired by these bands.
Fronting the band is Jeff Martin from Racer X and Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe. Together their vocal talents can shatter a beer mug. On the evening of Saturday, April 11 FORTRESS members Mike and Dave Hatchett (guitar) will be joined by Special Guests Scott Travis from Judas Priest, Klaus Eichstadt from Ugly Kid Joe, and local luminary Matt Reardon (singer/songwriter) will play an acoustic set.

This concert is a full fledged tribute to the days when metal ruled, so all attendees should bust out the skin-tight leather pants and torn-sleeveless t-shirts because 80’s attire is strongly advised. Prizes go to the best 80’s metal rockers who dress best and impress.
