Elan Team Update

Again the Elan Team riders have been busy on and off the slopes and have left some marks on the contest podiums worldwide. Stine Brun Kjeldaas has showed with some solid performances that she has totally recovered from her blown out shoulder. Stine came in 5th in her first ever slopestyle comp at the Roxy Slope Style Pro in Les Arcs, France. Right after she got her gear ready to fly across the big pond and compete in the US Open. Here she showed that pipe riding is still her favourite thing and shared the podium with her mates Kelly Clark (1st) and Tricia Byrnes (2nd). Our US slope style specialist Nate Sheehan also competed in the Open. His goal was to grab one of the coveted TTR-Tickets to the Artic Challenge. But unfortunately he could not make it to the top and finished the men’s slope style competition with a solid 6th.

Canadian Development Team rider Neil Conolly qualified for Canada’s biggest snowboard event, the Rip Zone Invitational, which will go off from the 11th-13th April in the famous resort of Whistler, BC. Keep an eye on Neil there.

The European Alps saw some super solid performance by our riders as well. Anssi Manninen was busy shooting with the guys from Snowboarder MBM, his buddy Aleksi Vanninen got invited to the Red Bull Big Air in Are, Sweden. Bad weather affected the famous Invitational so that the riders had to compete without the planed practice day. “We had only one jump each before the contest”, explained Aleksi and continues, “The jump was super nice and I felt really comfortable riding it. Due to high winds and snowfall the final was cancelled and all of us riders decided to split the prize money. That was really sad cause the jump was so super fun to ride.”

German Vroni Brandt from the Elan Team Alps was more fortunate in her latest contest. She entered the Halfpipe contest of the Austrian Open and took home the top spot. Her team mate and compatriot Martin Olesch could not fully reproduce that, but achieved a more than formidable 3rd place in the men’s Halfpipe competition. Austrian Matthias Huber worked his way up continuously at the à"sthetiker-Tour and finished the Austrian contest series ranked 2nd in the amateur category.
