Earthquake Hits South Korea Hours Before Slopestyle Final

Just around 5:00am Saturday morning, 5 hours before the men’s snowboarding slopestyle final set to start, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, about 200 miles south of the 2018 Winter Olympics. The activity was felt in Phoenix Park, the location of the snowboard slope course and halfpipe.

Athletes and media on site woke up to an emergency text, but no structural damages or changes in schedule have been reported. We will update the story as we hear more.
