George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars are set to play a free show during Sunsation on Saturday, April 12.  George Clinton is one of the most important innovators of funk music.  The band is a Funk music collective headed by George Clinton that specializes in the style of music known as Parlaiment-Funkadelic.  Recording under myriad names, this group had thirteen Top 10 hits on the U.S. R&B music charts between 1967 and 1983, including six number one hits.  In May of 1997, George Clinton and 14 other members of P-Funk were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Matisyahu will bring his uncanny, electrifying fusion of Orthodox Judaism and classic reggae to the Sunsation masses for a free show on April 13.  Via adventures in Colorado, Israel, Oregon and New York City he not only heard a profound spiritual calling, but also discerned a revolutionary way to share his discoveries and reflections through the reggae and hip-hop sounds that had long been an integral part of his day-to-day soundtrack.

Susan Tedeschi has established a formidable reputation as a deeply expressive singer, talented guitarist and distinctive songwriter.  After establishing herself as one of New England’s top-drawing live acts and making her recording debut with her embryonic 1995 album Better Days, Tedeschi achieved an impressive musical and commercial breakthrough with Just Won’t Burn, garnering three Grammy® nominations throughout her career.

Coming to the Sunsation stage April 6 is Pato Banton and the Reggae Revolution and their charismatic performance, where no show is alike and audience members become participants in the experience.  The direction of each concert is totally based on the feedback Pato receives from the audience as there is no fixed set list.  Also sharing the stage with Pato Banton on April 6 is Eek-A-Mouse.   He has created a style all his own and gone on to become an international phenomenon quite apart from the rest of the world of reggae.  Eek-A-Mouse has a sound so unlike any other, with equal parts singing, DJing, and disconcerting Oriental-esque weirdness, that all of Jamaica is raving about the rodent.

Lodging packages start at $128 per night, based on double occupancy in a silver level hotel room.  To book, visit or call 888-760-4342.
In addition to free live music, Sunsation on-hill activities include Hometown Heroes April 11-13.  They’ve done it in skate and surf, now Hometown Heroes comes back to the snow.  Copper invites guests to witness a progressive event that made its debut last year and was the hit of the competition seeason.  Twelve of the top professional snowboarders will compete alongside 12 of their future counterparts, today’s top Amateurs (AMs).  The contest will have an innovative team format on the slopes of Copper, with top AMs and pros going head to head in an event like no other.  Look for a unique rail set from Copper’s innovative park and pipe crew just above Burning Stones Plaza.   For more info, visit  Spectators are welcome; however this event is invite only.
