Burton’s Women’s Demo Tour

This winter, women riders of all ages and abilities are invited to strap on a brand new snowboard and participate in the Burton Snowboards’ 2000 Women’s Demo Tour. Making stops at 13 major resorts this winter, Burton Snowboards’ Women’s Tour, sponsored by Jump magazine, provides riders with all the necessary tools for a successful day on the slopes. Whether a seasoned snowboarder, newbie or never ever, women who attend can check out Burton’s latest women’s snowboarding equipment, receive instruction from Burton pro riders and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at the mountain, all while benefiting breast cancer research. Opportunities to sample Burton’s latest developments in women’s equipment are endless. There is no charge for riders to lace-up a Women’s Mystic boot, step-in to the newly designed Burton SI system, or strap-in to the Custom Freestyle binding system; try them all or stick with one that feels just right. Riders will be able to mount-up and make some turns on the groovy new Feelgood boards, the series designed by Burton pro riders, Shannon Dunn and Victoria Jealouse – check out all three sizes: the 49, 55, and 60. Looking for a certain board? You’ll find it at the tent where all Burton’s boards, including the Customs and the Supermodels, are available to demo.

Each demo booth is staffed by women who ride and are knowledgeable on the latest Burton product innovations. Brand managers, local rippers, and Burton team riders are all on hand to meet, greet and answer any questions participating snowboarders may have. Participants can lend support toward finding a cure for breast cancer by purchasing a Women’s Tour T-shirt with the proceeds benefiting breast cancer research.

Participating resorts will extend discounted lift tickets and lessons for riders of all levels at the Burton Women’s Tour. So, newbies can be introduced to the sport while self-proclaimed experts and novices can participate in park and half-pipe clinics run by members of Burton’s women’s pro team.

The Tour offers women more than a chance to test-drive the best snowboard products in the world, it brings together riders of all ages and abilities. These women who rip will be on hand for tuning and riding clinics, autograph sessions, to offer tips, take some runs, and just hang out. It’s a chance for riders to freeride with Olympian Betsy Shaw, fine tune a tough trick with Olympian half-pipe experts Shannon Dunn, Cara-Beth Burnside, Natasza Zurek, and Maelle Ricker or race with speed demons Victoria Jealouse and Leslee Olson.
