Portland, Oregon--Bonfire snowboarding once again invites kids of all ages to ride against the pros at one of the nation’s most unique and premiere summer action sports competitions, the 2006 Bonfire Pipe To Pipe.
Pipe To Pipe’s unique format features both snowboarding and skating in a competition that offers 70 amateur and pro riders the shot at competing for cash and prizes.
The Pipe To Pipe events will take place at Timberline Resort on Mt. Hood and Windells snowboard and skate camps in Sandy, OR off Highway 26. Dates of the competitions are: June 28, July 12 and July 22.
The day begins at Windells camp on Mt Hood, where Windells staff and pro riders judge a 45 minute snowboard rail jam session. In the afternoon, Windell’s skate facility hosts a jam-format skate competition. Live music and lots of prizes round out the night, for summer camp attendees and other guests. The event is open to the public with a signed camp liability waiver.
The prize purse for the top female and male rider in the snow rail jam event is $1000. First place for Skate Best Trick will be $750 for the overall winner. For the competitors that enter in all 3 events for skate and snow, there will be an overall $1,000 bonus presented by Gore-Tex.
Bonfire riders Chad Otterstrom, Leanne Pelosi, Matt Ladley, Josh Sherman, Ally Carroll and Ross Baker will all be competing in the snow rail jam alongside campers and staff at Windells.
